Early breakfast and leave to Kandy via Aukana enroute visit Sigiriya and climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Then proceed to Kandy en-route visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
The Aukana, statue is a standing statue of the Buddha near Kekirawa in North Central Sri Lanka. The statue, which has a height of more than 40 feet, was carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century.
Sigiriya, (5th c.A.D) an impressive rock fortress, a royal citadel of a king for 18 years. Apart from the great rock, the surroundings, just gets you…. so green, so serene, and peaceful. Exciting climb to the summit to the site of the palace which commands a magnificent view of the royal water gardens on par with the best of the ancient world.
